In my discovering of turning there was some sort of a predestination. My father is a carpenter with a strong feeling for this job. When I was a boy he taught me something of his craftsmanship. It attracted me because I felt the beauty of a job that is material on one side and surprisingly creative on the other.

The nice thing about turning is that, once you learn a technique, this can be interpreted and used in different ways. I like to discover the point where the processing method is replaced by inspiration. The drive to seek new solutions, the desire to experiment, the discovery of new points of view, are all components that make me feel the taste of turning.
